             In Australia, the workforce is becoming more diverse in terms of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation.  However, there are still some challenges to achieving true diversity in the workplace. One challenge is the lack of representation of some groups in leadership positions. Another challenge is the existence of unconscious bias, which can hinder the hiring and promotion of diverse candidates. According to a report by the Australian Human Rights Commission, more needs to be done to promote diversity in Australian workplaces. The report found that 24% of Australians have experienced discrimination in the workplace in the last 12 months, with 15% of these cases related to race and ethnicity. Furthermore, only 24% of people from culturally diverse backgrounds are in management positions, compared to 31% of those from non-diverse backgrounds.
